Barn Conversion, Morpeth

The barn was originally use as an animal shed when the client purchased it. The upper floor was created, by extending the outer brick work (sandstone) by 1 metre. Floor joists were installed & pad shoes laid, to sit A frame trusses. which were made on site by us, roof structure formed to architects design. All reclaimed slate was used, along with traditional lead work. In keeping with adjacent farm buildings.

A new concrete insulated floor was laid to the ground floor, all new timber stud work & plaster boarding installed to ground & first floor. To create a spacious, three bedroom property.

Bespoke items were made & fitted, such as a solid american oak half landing stair case, traditional country stile doors, Full size Traditional window frames with double glazed units, Red wood A Frame trusses exposed in kitchen with in set spot lights. Along with a bespoke country stile kitchen, with hidden modern appliances.

The barn kept its country stile looks but gained a modern feel for the client.
